In this Masterclass we’ll sit down Mr. Swing himself, Grammy-winning percussionist George Delgado! We’ll focus on his step-by-step approach for developing the tumbao on three drums, and learn about a host of other concepts and insights along the way. George has been the long standing conguero in the salsa dura powerhouse Spanish Harlem Orchestra for roughly two decades, and has performed and recorded with a laundry list of prominent artists in the latin music world including Eddie Palmieri, Tito Puente, Septeto Habanero, Manny Oquendo y la Libre, Jose Alberto “El Canario,” and many, many others.

In the Interview section we’ll hear all about the beginnings of George’s percussion journey as the timbalero for Tito Rojas, and how he honed his skills playing conga and bongó in NYC’s bustling salsa music scene in the 1980’s. We’ll also be privy to a bunch of wonderful anecdotes from a lifetime of working alongside many latin legends.
